Blowing Rock's climate is temperate, with an average temperature
of 69 degrees, 53 inches of rainfall, and 36 inches of
snow per year. And this mountain Eden is only an hour from
I-77, I-81 AND I-40, with access to Blowing Rock through
highways 321, 421, and 221. |
| Watauga County schools
provide excellent education to over 3,000 students. Watauga
High School, in Boone, continues to produce SAT scores higher
than national averages and remains a leader in the state.
Heavenly Mountain is home to Heavenly Mountain Ideal School
for Girls, a private school for girl's, grades 7 through
12. Appalachian State University serves as the academic hub
of nearby Boone, with a student population of around 12,000.
ASU is ranked in the top 15 of Southern Universities.
This jewel of the Blue Ridge has a wealth
of cultural events to choose from, including plays by the
local Blowing Rock Stage Company, as well as ballets, operas,
and concerts of all kinds hosted by Appalachian State University.
Artists, musicians and authors are continually attracted
